Our Solutions
The Pearl Harbor Pipe Team offers two solutions below to the problems that the Naval Shipyard presented.
Pipe Array Cleaning RobotThe most common current ways pipe arrays are cleaned are manually or with a robot that requires a rail system to operate in cartesian coordinates. Our Pipe Array Cleaning Robot can be placed outside of an access panel of a pipe array, with no need to remove the whole face covering. Our robot will also complete the cleaning process autonomously, saving time, manual labor, and money for the staff at the Naval Shipyard. The design that the Pearl Harbor Pipe Team has made will change the way pipe arrays are cleaned and set a standard at shipyards across the nation.

Pipe Inspection AttachmentPipe are currently inspected manually or with a small car-like robot. Current limitations with robots are the size constraint. Our team wanted to make a robot small enough to fit within a 1 inch diameter pipe. Most current solutions also require the pipes to be magnetic, as the wheel on said robots are also magnetic. Our team aimed to change that. Our attachment can be used in any pipe of any material, ignoring previous size constraints.
